CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION CREDIT INFORMATION

Accreditation

The American College of Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™

The American College of Surgeons designates this live activity for a maximum of 23 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

To obtain CME or CE credit:

You will receive an email from Claire Leidy (cleidy@som.umaryland.edu) to complete an evaluation for the conference. You need to complete the evaluation to get the credits. If you do not receive it within 2 weeks of the completion of the conference, please reach out to her (and check your spam/junk folder).

We have three kinds of certificates:
  1. CME certificate (for physicians)
  2. CE Certificate (for nurses)
  3. Certificate of Completion

To obtain credit, you MUST have an ACS ID. If you do not have an ACS ID, see below. Once an account is set up, notify Claire (cleidy@som.umaryland.edu) by providing the ACS ID number and ABS number along with the credit earned, and she can add the credit to the profile and the CE or CME certificate will be available in the member’s ACS profile.

How to set up an ACS ID:

If you do not have an ACS ID, creating an account will grant you access to your CME credits for tracking and transfer. To create an account, click ACS New User Registration. After you have created your account, please go to MyCME, log in with your account number and password. Here you will be able to do the following:

  • Electronically share CME Credits with ABS.
  • View credits earned from activities offered through the ACS.
  • View Education Credits of Excellence earned through designated ACS activities.

Should you have any questions or require assistance with MYCME, please do not hesitate to contact mycme@facs.org.
